State of the art solar cells convert daylight into electricity, which is stored in a 48v battery system. The golf car batteries only need to be conventionally charged on average once every three days. Each solar panel saves the energy-recharging equivalent of 12 barrels of oil, or 2 Tonnes of coal over a conventional cars life.
In addition, the solar powered charging system is designed for 30 years of maintenance-free operation. The cars can be upgraded at any time by simply refitting solar panel on the new vehicle. Thus reducing costs even further.
